Ingredients

  • 2 cupsall-purpose flour (about 250 grams, low protein)
  • 1/2 cuppowdered sugar (about 100 grams)
  • 1/2 cupSkippy peanut butter (about 125 grams, other brands are fine)
  • 1/2 cupvegetable oil (about 100 ml)
  • 1 tablespoonpowdered milk (heaping tablespoon)
  • 1 tablespoonbutter (or margarine, heaping tablespoon)
  • 1 teaspoonsalt
  • For the glaze: 3 egg yolks + 1 tablespoon melted butter, cooled

Steps

    In a bowl: Mix powdered sugar, peanut butter, vegetable oil, powdered milk, butter, and salt. Stir with a whisk until smooth. Gradually add the flour, mixing until well combined.

    Shape the dough as desired. I used a heart-shaped cutter. Use a rolling pin, silicone mat, and wide plastic wrap to prevent the dough from sticking to the rolling pin. Don't make the cookies too thin, or they will be fragile when lifted ⛔.

    Lightly grease the baking sheet with margarine. Place the dough on the sheet and apply the glaze 3 times. Add sesame seeds or crushed nuts as a topping. Bake at 300°F (150°C). If using a conventional oven, bake with medium to low heat. ✔ Tips: Always switch the baking sheet from top to bottom or vice versa every 20 minutes if using a conventional oven, or every 15 minutes if using an electric oven. If you don't switch, the egg wash will crack 😁.
