Steps
- 1
In a clean bowl, add yeast, sugar, milk, water and mix thoroughly so that the yeast dissolves and then cover to allow the yeast activate
- 2
When the yeast is activated break the eggs and mix together with the yeast mixture, then sieve in the flour, sugar and water to form a soft dough
- 3
Knead the dough for like 5 mins then add the butter and a pinch of salt and knead again for 8-10mins. Cover with a cling wrap and allow to proof for 1 hour (first proofing)
- 4
After one hour, punch the air in the dough and knead again for like 3 mins and then divide the dough into 12 portion (or more depending on the size you want)
- 5
Make smooth balls with each portion and keep them aside to rest. Using your pointing finger, make holes in the middle of the dough and cover with clean kitchen towel and allow to proof for 30mins (second proofing)
- 6
When proofed fry the donuts on a medium flame heat (20-30secs each side) or until desired brownness is achieved
- 7
For the glaze, in a clean bowl, add the sugar, milk, vanilla essence, cocoa powder, melted butter, little amount of water and mix them all thoroughly until really smooth and glossy. Dip the fried donuts in the chocolate glaze and sprinkle some colourful sprinkles and dessicated coconut (optional)
