Steps
- 1
Put your light coconut milk in a cooking pot and put on heat
- 2
Add in salt and let it come to a boil. Meanwhile, wash your rice and drain it
- 3
Once the milk starts boiling add in the rice, give it a quick stir, partially cover and let cook
- 4
Once the milk has reduced but still seen add in the green grams and stir to mix well, continue stirring giving intervals of little rest, then add in the heavy milk, stir but then don't let the milk dry up as in normal rice
- 5
Remove from heat, cover the pan and put charcoal on top or put in oven for a short while, less than 10 min.
- 6
Remove from heat. This rice is usually a bit soggy, that's the beauty of it
- 7
It can be served plain or with any curry, stew, soup or salad. I served mine with brinjals stew and a touch of chilli

Yummy
