Ingredients

  • 1/3 cupshortening
  • 1/3 cupmargarine
  • 3/4 cupwhite sugar
  • 1/2 tspgrated orange peel
  • 1/2 tspvanilla
  • 1egg
  • 4 tspmilk
  • 2 cupsall purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 1/2 tspbaking powder
  • dashsalt

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 375

  2. 2

    Cream shortening, orange peel, sugar and vanilla. Add egg, beat until light and fluffy. Stir in milk.

  3. 3

    Sift dry ingredients together, blend into wet. Divide dough in half, wrap in waxed paper, chill for 1 hour.

  4. 4

    Roll to 1/8" thickness. Cut out, bake for 6-8 minutes. Cool on racks.
