Take sugar in a bowl. Add a cup of water which should be slightly hot. Mix it properly.

Keep on adding a little flour and mix thoroughly. See that the batter prepared should be thick in consistency.

Heat the oil. Not too much oil should be there for frying the malpudas. Put the prepared batter with the help of a large spoon in the oil. Only one at a time. First Keep it on a high flame for first 2 mins. Then keep it on a low flame for about 5mins. Keep on turning the malpuda in the pan at intervals.

Remove the malpuda on a tissue paper when it turns golden brown in colour.

Garnish it with coconut powder or grated cashews and almonds.
