Carbohydrates are essential for us which gives energy to our body. Sauces of healthy carbohydrates are grains, vegetables, fruits, seeds and nuts. Unhealthy sauces are soft drinks, white bread, deep fried potatoes, ready to eat cereals etc.
I made tikkis from boiled potatoes, poha and veggies. Tempting and healthy version of tikkis in which no breadcrumbs or cornflour used.

I made tikkis from boiled potatoes, poha and veggies. Tempting and healthy version of tikkis in which no breadcrumbs or cornflour used.

Wash and cook potatoes in pressure cooker. Peel the skin and mash them.

Wash and soak poha in water for 3-4 minutes. Then strain all water from it and rest for 10 minutes. Then mash with hand.

In a mixing bowl take boiled and mashed potatoes, mashed poha, chopped coriander leaves, grated carrot and beetroot, chopped french beans, crushed green chillies, salt, chat masala, roasted cumin seeds powder and lemon juice. Add rice flour and combine all ingredients well.

Make equal size balls, flatten them and give shape of tikkis. Roast or shallow fry from both sides on grill pan or tawa till golden brown. Veg aloo poha tikkis is ready to serve.

Enjoy simple with chutney or tomato sauce. Or serve in chat form. For chat, apply green chutney, date tamarind chutney and garlic chutney on tikkis. Spread chopped onion and Sev.
