Ingredients

About 1 hour 30 minutes
  • 8 cupsflour (about 1 kilogram)
  • 1 3/4 cupsshortening (about 400 grams)
  • 1 1/4 cupssugar (about 250 grams)
  • 2eggs
  • 2 tablespoonsbaking powder
  • 1 canbeer
  • 1 cansweetened condensed milk, boiled for 4 hours (to make cajeta or dulce de leche)
  • 1egg, for brushing

    Mix the sugar and baking powder with the shortening. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually add the flour, mixing until combined.

    Once the dough is well mixed, slowly add the beer, kneading until the dough is no longer sticky. Knead for 5 minutes, then wrap in plastic and a towel and let rest for 30 minutes.

    After resting, divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball out with a rolling pin and cut into circles the size you want for your empanadas.

    Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Fill each dough circle with cajeta (or pineapple, strawberry, pumpkin jam, etc.). Brush the edges with a little beaten egg to seal, then press with a fork to decorate.

    Place the empanadas on a baking sheet. Poke the tops with a fork and brush with beaten egg.

    Bake for 25 minutes at 350°F (180°C). After removing from the oven, let cool for 1 minute, then roll in sugar and cinnamon to taste.

Soy apasionada de la cocina y de mi familia así que amó cocinarles e inventar uno que otro platillo; no conozco mucho de postres pero me encanta todo lo que tenga chocolate así que a ésos le entró un poco más 😁🤭🍫 ...me gusta ganarme mi dinerito y más con lo que me gusta así que casi toda la semana son de hojarascas, empanadas y pay 😉😋 que mis amigas aman ...Me encanta ver el fútbol ⚽ así que soy una loquita aficionada de uno de los mejores equipos de la sultana del norte ⛰️ mis Rayados del Monterrey 💙..Amo las plantas 🌹🌱🌵🌳 así que desearía que mi entorno estuviera lleno de ellas pero bueno hago lo posible 🤗..Amó a mi familia bella 👩🏽‍⚕️👲🏻🧔🏽 que son mi motor ❤️Y amó ayudar a quien Dios, y mi salud me lo permiten..Estoy en un grupo de WhatsApp de puras chicas bellas que aman salir adelante a quien les hablo mucho de está maravillosa aplicación..en fin nunca acabo 🤭🤭😁 pero bueno ésto es algo de mi diario vivir..Gracias por recibirme en su maravilloso grupo de amantes de la cocina..
