First of all wash the mushrooms thoroughly and pat dry. Then get them thinly sliced and keep aside.

Heat oil and butter in a pan. Add garlic, green chilli, onion, ginger and saute for a minute.

Next add sliced mushrooms and salt to taste. Saute and cook till the mushrooms shrink in size slightly.

Now add water and bring it to a boil.

Meanwhile, take corn flour in a bowl, add 1/2 cup of water and mix well.

Add the corn flour to the boiling mixture. Stir and cook for 3-4 minutes on a low flame.

Finally add the black pepper powder, then chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Turn off the flame.

Thus ready is the garlic mushroom soup for being served piping hot.
