Jower roti is a healthy traditional flat bread made with sorghum flour, these rotis are called jower bhakri in Maharashtra,&jolada rotti in karnataka,these are gluten free&vegan, being rich in antioxidant good for the heart too, my mom use, to make these rotis when we were kids with some sweet jaggery & coconut chutney which used be my favorite,I picked it up from her how to make these rotis, it goes well with any chutney,or sabzi, do try this healthy jower rotis...

Ingredients

30 minutes
3 servings
  • 1(approx 250grms)glass jower flour
  • 1 glasswater
  • as per tasteSalt
  • 1/2 cupjowar flour for dusting

Steps

30 minutes

    Add a glass of water in a sauce pan add little salt and let it boil, when it starts to boil turn off the flame add a glass of jower flour mix well..

    Let it cool down a little bit so that you can knead the dough properly..knead the dough properly with the palm..the more you knead properly you can make perfect rotis

    Now take small portion of dough, make balls..take a ball size dough pat and flatten with the help of palm and fingers, also dust the work station with little jowar flour to prevent it from sticking while patting, pat it in to round shape and as thin as possible

    Put flattened roti on hot tawa, spread water over the roti with the help of wet cloth, wait until water dries up, flip to other side and cook, press gently so that it get cooks evenly.. Now your healthy jowar roti is ready serve with any chutney or sabzi/vegetables..
