Soak 1/2 cup of rice for 2 hrs.
Drain n dry it. - 2
Grind it to a fine powder. Sieve it.

Now in a thick bottom pan take 1 cup of water.Bring it to boil.
Add ghee n sugar. Let it boil for a minute. - 4
Put rice flour n stir continuously to avoid lumps.
Cover it for 5 mins. - 5
Meanwhile in a pan boil milk. Add cardamom powder n saffron.

Add cashews n raisins.
Simmer it n let it boil for 10 mins. - 7
Now shift this dough into a tray.
Knead it till it gets smooth texture. - 8
Make small balls.
Put it in boiling milk.
Stir continuously and cook for 10 to 15 mins. - 9
Now add Jaggery n fresh grated coconut. Give it a nice stir for 5 mins.

Dhoodh Gonthia kheer is ready to serve.

It can be served hot or cold.
This is typical Odiya sweet dish.
