I was given a lot of Shishito peppers, so I created this quick sauté with them.

It is important to sautee the garlic slowly in order to release its flavor and aroma. This is also true with the wiener to bring out its savory flavor. This way the dish can be seasoned with only the salt and black pepper. Recipe by kazz72

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 20Shishito peppers
  2. 5Wiener sausages
  3. 1 cloveGarlic
  4. 2 pinchNatural salt
  5. 10Whole Black Peppercorns
  6. 1 tbspOlive oil

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash the Shishito peppers thoroughly. Remove the stems and poke a hole in the exposed area with a toothpick (this will prevent the peppers from exploding).

  2. 2

    Cut the wieners into halves lengthwise. Slice the garlic, and crush the peppercorns.

  3. 3

    Pour olive oil into a frying pan. Add sliced garlic and carefully sauté over low heat.

  4. 4

    When the garlic releases its aroma, add wieners and continue to sauté. Add the Shishito peppers to the pan and keep sautéing.

    Season lightly with the salt to taste. Sprinkle crushed black pepper. Turn off the heat, and serve.
