This is an authentic North Indian style creamy peas and potatoes kofta curry.It is easy to make and extremely flavourful with the rich flavours of green peas,potatoes,kasoori methi and heavy cream.It makes for a grand weekend dinner or at parties and pairs well with roti,naan,lachcha paratha or any rice preparation.

This is an authentic North Indian style creamy peas and potatoes kofta curry.It is easy to make and extremely flavourful with the rich flavours of green peas,potatoes,kasoori methi and heavy cream.It makes for a grand weekend dinner or at parties and pairs well with roti,naan,lachcha paratha or any rice preparation.

Grind peas with 2 green chillies,coriander and ginger garlic paste.Add grated boiled potato,finely chopped onion,besan and breadcrumbs according to need.Add dry roasted cumin powder,fennel seed powder,red chilli powder,chaat masala,salt and sugar to taste.Mix all and mash into a dough.

Make lemon sized balls out of the dough.Coat each ball with dry maida.Heat oil in a pan and fry koftas in medium flame in batches.Makes about 22 koftas.Set aside.These fried koftas may be served alone with tomato sauce as a teatime snack or as an appetizer at parties.

For the gravy,boil the cubed onion with cashewnuts.Cool and grind to a smooth paste with melon seeds and curd.

Remove excess oil from pan.In 2 tbsp oil, sprinkle cumin,ajwain and asafoetida. When they crackle, add the ground paste,tomato puree and all dry masalas.Add salt and pinch of sugar to taste.Add kasoori methi and malai or fresh cream.Fry till oil leaves sides.

Add a cup of water and boil.Adjust gravy according to need.Pour gravy in a bowl.Add cream and mix.Dip required amount of koftas just before serving.Garnish with chopped coriander and serve with roti,lachcha paratha,naan or any rice preparation.
