Whole black lentil (Sabut masoor ki daal):

Wash & soak Lentil overnight. It will become more than double in size.if you have no time so you can soak it about 30 minute.
Heat oil in pressure cooker on medium heat
Now add cumin seeds let them sizzle add ginger garlic paste sauté for a minute mix in chopped onion cook till become soft and light brown. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder chopped tomatoes till it become soft. - 2
Wash and rinse lentils under running water till water becomes clear put cleaned whole lentil in the pressure cooker. Add 3 cups of water when become a full boiled Put cooker’s lid on for pressure.
Overnight soaked lentil will take 10 -12 mins. Ensure heat is medium.
After 10 mins wait for pressure cooker cool down and open it when no steam left. The Lentils might require around 3/4th of a cup of more water after pressure cooking. Mix and boil further for 5 mins or till more soft.

🌻Now preparing the Tarka OR Tempering:
Heat oil in a frying pan.
Brown the garlic, add cumin seed,mustard seeds, dry red chilies. Pour over the Lentil.
Garnish with Fresh coriander.chopped green chillies and ginger julienne sprinkle garam masala & serve with boiled rice,chapatti or Naan. - 4
✅ NOTES:
If you don’t have a pressure cooker, you can make it in a normal cooking pan but it will be take more time.
