Sarsiya Khaja

My mama used to bring these sarsiya Khaja when we visit to Surat and everyone was enjoying except me and my mama used to say that I don't have any taste buds for good things. Now when I don't leave in Gujarat, I miss all these delicacy.

My mama used to bring these sarsiya Khaja when we visit to Surat and everyone was enjoying except me and my mama used to say that I don't have any taste buds for good things. Now when I don't leave in Gujarat, I miss all these delicacy.
Steps

Mix the oil and water together. Add soda and mix it well until it becomes creamy.

Add turmeric, pepper powder and salt.

Add maida in the mixture spoon by spoon. I took 1 cup and 1 tblspn maida. Bind to dough. Give 30 minutes rest. Divide into equal three portions. Take a portion and divide into many small pieces.

Take a another pan. Add 1/4 cup water and add all the small pieces in that. Mix it well until it becomes dough again.

Now mix it with other pieces. Bind it again as a dough. Now divide the dough into 12 equal portions.

Heat up the oil on medium flame. Roll up the dough and do it as shown in the picture.

Fry it on low flame. Usually it is serve with Aamras (mango juice) but it goes very well with tea or coffee too.
