Ingredients

  • 500 gramchicken pieces (cut into med size)
  • sliceOnion -1 - thin
  • 1 tblsGarlic, Ginger paste -
  • Green Chilli - 2 - Slit half
  • halfRed chilli -1 -slit
  • Tomato - 1 - cut into 4
  • Bay leaf - 1
  • 1 tspBlack Pepper powder -
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder -
  • Garam masala - 1/2 - tsp
  • Cinnamon stick - small
  • 1Star anise -
  • Clove- 3
  • 4Cardamom -
  • 1/2 tspFennel seeds -
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tblsOil -

Steps

  1. 1

    Cut & Clean chicken. Keep aside.

  2. 2

    Add oil in pan. Add in dry spices, followed by onion, green chilli and tomato. Stir well. Cook until onion turn glassy.

  3. 3

    Add garlic & ginger paste. Stir well. Once the oil breaks add in chicken pieces. Stir well. Cook for 10 minutes (stir occasionally)

  4. 4

    Add water to ease the cooking process. When the chicken is 3/4 cooked, add salt, turmeric powder,black pepper powder amd red chilli. Stir well.

  5. 5

    Let it cook under medium flame for 10 to 15 more minutes. Or until the gravy thickens and the oil separates form the gravy.
