Drain and grind the rice and split black gram separately,using very little water,to a smooth batter.

In a large bowl, mix together both the batters.Cover and leave to ferment for six hours in a warm place

Place the fermented batter in a bowl,add salt and water mix well.mix onion,chilli, coriander and tomatoes.

Heat a non-stick tawa and pour a small ladleful of the batter and spread it evenly with the back of the ladle.

Cover and cook on medium heat.Till the other side is cooked too.

Serve hot with Pudina Chutney.
