Fluffy Natto Fried Rice

cookpad.japan
cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp

There's a dish where you mix the egg into the natto and beat it until airy. The fluffy egg mixes in deliciously with the rice. It worked well with this fried rice. Season with lots of black pepper and add just a bit of soy sauce to create a colorful and wonderfully fragrant dish.

After mixing the egg into the natto, the main point is to beat it together well. It will become like an omelet soufflé. Since you'll be adding rice, mix it together really well and when it's cooked, it should be crumbly. Heating the rice in the microwave is also important. You can use chopped natto or natto made with smaller beans. Recipe by Reinia

Steps

  1. 1

Spread out the rice on a plate and heat it up in the microwave. Put the natto in a small bowl and mix in the included sauce. Add the egg and use 3-4 chopsticks to beat well.

  2. 2

Heat the frying pan over high heat and then add the oil. Pour in the fluffily mixed egg and natto in one go. Use a spatula to stir it once and then add the rice. Combine with a spatula in cutting motions.

  3. 3

Cook it over medium heat until the stickiness is gone and it becomes fluffy. Halfway through, add the finely chopped scallions. Season with salt and a good amount of pepper. Add in a few drops of soy sauce to complete the dish.
