You may have tried dahi vada in many ways, but you should definitely try this version made with jeera butter. Its flavor is truly unique and very different from bread dahi vada.

In a bowl, mix 1 cup water and 1/4 cup yogurt with sugar to taste. Stir well, then add the jeera butter crackers and soak for 8 to 10 minutes.

Whisk the remaining yogurt with sugar until smooth.

After 8 to 10 minutes, the jeera butter crackers will be nicely soaked and soft.

Mix together all the spices (black salt, red chili powder, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala).

Remove the soaked jeera butter crackers from the yogurt and place them on a serving plate. Sprinkle the prepared spice mix on top as desired.

Add more yogurt as needed, then drizzle with sweet tamarind chutney and green chutney to taste. Garnish with finely chopped red chili and cilantro leaves, and top with fine sev as desired. Serve immediately.
