Steps

Firsty rinse and soak both dal in a bowl.

Now in a pressure cooker take dal. Add water turmeric powder and salt. Pressure cook for 2 whistles.

Now in a kadai add ghee, hing,bay leaf and dry chilli.

Also add chopped ginger and garlic.

Saute slightly further add onion.

Saute until it turns golden brown. Now add tomato and spices.

Saute until tomato turns mushy. Add in cooked dal and stir well.

Simmer for 5 minutes. Now add garam masala and serve with rice or chapati.
