In a small bowl take 3-4 tbsp milk at room temperature. Put into it custard powder and mix well so that it doesn't have any lumps.

Next take a heavy bottom pan. Put rest of the milk and start boiling at slow flame.

As it comes to a boil add sugar and mix. Let sugar get dissolved. Add crushed cardamoms and vanilla essence. Mix and continue boiling at slow flame.

Next take the custard mixed milk, mix again as some custard must have settled down. So, mix and pour it gradually into the boiling milk. Keep on stirring else it may get burnt at the bottom and also it may become lumpy.

As it boils at sim, you can find subsequently it will start thickening.When you get the required consistency, switch the flame off.

Transfer custard into a serving bowl. Put this in the fridge for cooling. As it cools down, put your favourite dry fruits, tooti frooti and fresh fruits in it. Mix gently.

Cut and keep the fruits ready just before putting into the custard. You can take apple, banana, grapes, pomegranate etc.

A tip: To make custard more creamy you can put 30 ml fresh cream in the milk while boiling and increase the amount of sugar added.
It makes custard rich, smooth, velvety.
