I wanted to use up some cans. There's canned saury, sardines, mackerel, etc., so use whatever's available. You can season it with soy sauce or miso if you like. It's lightly flavored and delicious.Canned food is heavily flavored, so you don't need seasonings.Kids love it if you add a bit of mayonnaise. Sweet Onions and Tuna Japanese Spring Potato Salad Sweet Onions and Tuna Japanese Spring Potato Salad
I usually use onions and tuna because I like them stir-fried together. I thought it would be delicious if I used sweet onions and mixed fluffy spring potatoes with soy sauce. That's how it all came about.I added the soy sauce in two batches to enjoy its flavor.I recommend you mix the potatoes when they're hot while making sure not to mash them too much. Please adjust the cooking time for the potatoes since it can vary according to size. You can boil or steam the potatoes instead of microwaving them. For 4 serving. Recipe by creamcrepe cookpad.japan -

Chilled Tomato and Sweet Onion Salad Chilled Tomato and Sweet Onion Salad
My mother made this for me a lot. My husband loves it too. It's best made in advance (e.g.: made at lunchtime for dinner), so that you can let it rest in the refrigerator for a sufficient amount of time to let it get really cold and have the flavors settle in. Recipe by Inaemon cookpad.japan -
Sweet Onion, Bonito Flake, Tomato, Soy Sauce and Mayonnaise Salad Sweet Onion, Bonito Flake, Tomato, Soy Sauce and Mayonnaise Salad
Both my husband and I get heartburn if we eat raw onions so I microwaved the onions and made them into a salad.Microwave the onion to your desired degree of doneness. If you don't get heartburn from raw onions, try this without cooking the onion. Adjust the amount of mayonnaise and soy sauce to your taste. I recommend using a ton of bonito flakes on this! For about 2 servings. Recipe by John Lee Cooker cookpad.japan -
Simple Tomato & Sweet Onion Salad Simple Tomato & Sweet Onion Salad
Here in Southern California, we're back to al fresco dining weather, and we like to enjoy it as much a possible. One of our favorite al fresco meals is a wine, cheese, and salumi lunch, and this simple tomato salad made specifically with red wine vinegar is one of my favorite accompaniments. You could totally use another kind of vinegar if you like, but there's just something about the flavor of red wine vinegar that I love in this salad. :)If you can get them, sweet onions like Vidalias or Mayan Sweets are ideal. x -

Orange and Sweet Onion Salad Orange and Sweet Onion Salad
I absolutely love the combination of these flavors. I wanted everyone to try it at least once so I uploaded the recipe here! The oranges I used this time were small, so I used one per person, cut it into half and then sliced them into about 7-8 mm. If you have large oranges, cut them into quarters first. If you don't have sweet onions, use regular onions, soaked in salted water or massaged with a little salt to get rid of the harshness. For 2 servings. Recipe by rie-tin cookpad.japan -
Sweet Onion and Pork Salad with Garlic and Mayo Sweet Onion and Pork Salad with Garlic and Mayo
I had some delicious sweet onions.Cutting the onion at a right angle helps mitigate its stinging spiciness. There's no need to soak the sweet onion in water or rub some salt in it. However, if you dislike its spiciness or if you're using regular onions, please prep them so they're not too strong in flavor.Do not chill the pork in ice water! This will make the meat excessively tough. Recipe by Oshisu cookpad.japan -

Easy Refreshing Sweet Onion and Tomato Salad Easy Refreshing Sweet Onion and Tomato Salad
This is a copycat recipe of the tomato salad that a Genghis Khan (BBQ sliced lamb) restaurant serves. My husband, who does not like fresh tomatoes, loved it. And, he said it was better than the one at the restaurant. If you use sweet onions, they should not be too sharp tasting, but if you'd rather not have any sharpness, soak them in water to mellow the flavor. If you have enough time, chill the tomatoes on a plate in the refrigerator until icy cold, then enjoy. Recipe by Momonoyasashiikaori cookpad.japan
