IMPERIAL AVOCADO. AVOCADO STUFFED WITH CRAB SALAD. JON STYLE IMPERIAL AVOCADO. AVOCADO STUFFED WITH CRAB SALAD. JON STYLE
“TREASURE CHEST OF MY MEMORIES.” For some recipes, I write something that will bring back memories later. This is what I wrote on August 5, 2018, Cerro Placeres, Valparaíso, Chile. Today we went to the market and one of the vegetables we bought was beets. The beets looked beautiful, so I asked for a bunch. The vendor started to cut off the leaves to throw them away, but I told him to give them to me too. The leaves were very nice, and when we got home, I picked out the most tender ones. I washed them well and used them to make a salad to go with the imperial avocado, which turned out delicious. I bought the crab meat at Caleta Portales. Jon MichelenaTranslated from Cookpad Chile -

Crab is a seafood I really enjoy—I love it in croquettes, burgers, casseroles, salads, and more. I remember when the pandemic started, I was too afraid to take the bus and my car was broken, so I would walk up and down Cerro Placeres to Caleta Portales to get our fish and shellfish. The effort was worth it. Jon MichelenaTranslated from Cookpad Chile -

This soup is delicious. Once you try it, you'll stick with this recipe. You won't find another recipe like this, where the shrimp shells are ground and used in the soup. The shrimp shells give the soup all its natural flavor, so there's no need to add seafood or fish stock like in other recipes. All I use is the natural flavor of the shrimp. Nothing goes to waste.https://youtu.be/L-vfIA04fNk Jon MichelenaTranslated from Cookpad Chile
