Steps
- 1
Pre heat your oven to 180 degrees celsius.
- 2
Mix your flour with baking powder, salt, sugar and margarine and mix well with your hands until your mixture looks nice and crumbly. (You can put 1 cup of sugar if you don't want your scones to be too sweet)
- 3
In a separate bowl mix your amasi with vanilla essence, orange zest and eggs.
- 4
Mix your liquid mixture and add to the flour mixture bit by bit (Please don't mix all at once as we try to have more liquid towards the end)
- 5
NB: Please make sure that your dough mixture is not too thick or too runny.
- 6
Cover the surface where you are going to cut your scones with a thin layer of dry flour. Transfer your dough and roll it out using a rolling pin or your hands. Cut out your preferred shape/s and grease your baking pan with butter so the scones won't stick on the pan.
- 7
You can egg wash your scones before putting them in the oven for that nice glossy finish. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes and voila!!! We have delicious scones 😋
- 8
NB: If you want to use 5 cups of flour, please use half the ingredients used above.
