Ingredients

15-20 minutes (excluding making of rabdi)
4-6 people
  1. 4bread slices (preferably milk breads)
  2. 1 cupsugar
  3. 3/4 cupwater
  4. 1 tspcardamom powder
  5. 2 cuplachha rabri (see recipe on my profile)
  6. 8-10threads kesar
  7. as requiredDry rose petals (for decoration)
  8. as requiredDesi ghee for frying

Steps

15-20 minutes (excluding making of rabdi)
  1. 1

    Cut the slices into triangle. Take one pan and dissolve the sugar. In the sugar add some threads of kesar and drop of lemon juice.

  2. 2

    Now heat desi ghee in a pan and deep fry the slices. You can shallow fry them also but I like traditional shahi tukda so I always deep fry them.

  3. 3

    Fry it until golden brown then dip it in the sugar syrup (your syrup should not be very hot and not be very cold). Soak it for 5-7 minutes then take out in a strainer so that extra sugar will drain out.

  4. 4

    Decorate it with Lachha Rabri (see recipe), kesar and rose petals.
