Tomato peels in a jar

I was inspired by a recipe from @Chara and made these dried tomato peels, but in a microwave.
You open the jar and immediately smell the summer!
It's a great way to #cookeverypart and use up everything from the nice and ripe tomatoes of summer.
In Kalamata we get these extremely tasty but very ugly looking tomatoes, that are very very easy to peel. Actually the peel is quite tough and not that pleasant to eat, so I usually peel my tomatoes every time I use them in my cooking or in my salads. Now I have a great way to use them too, so #zerowaste !!!

Steps
- 1
If you peel your tomatoes, get the peels. Or if you grate the tomatoes for some use, keep the peels that are left over. It's ok if they have some tomato flesh on them still.
- 2
Put them on a paper towel and pat them dry a bit
- 3
Put another paper towel on a plate and arrange the peels on it, so that they don't overlap. Sprinkle with salt, pepper etc if you wish. Put them in the microwave, on a medium setting. Mine goes from 100 to 800 and I used the 500.
- 4
My peels took 6 minutes to get dry. I stopped every 2 minutes to see what was happening and I rearranged them after 4 minutes. Stop when you see that the peels are dry and they feel like paper. A bit like what you get when you put cooking paper in the oven and it gets crispy 😅
- 5
Once you have them like this, put them in a blender and pulse until they are powder-like.
- 6
Put them in a jar and use wherever you like! You can flavor your homemade crisps, sprinkle on toast, on salads, on feta cheese… so many options!
