Steps
- 1
Beat the eggs in a bowl.
- 2
Add the milk and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Mix well.
- 3
Slice the baguette into 24 rounds (not including the ends).
- 4
Heat a skillet with a little butter.
- 5
Dip the bread slices into the egg-milk mixture, turning them so both sides soak up the liquid. Don’t soak all the slices at once! Place them directly into the hot skillet.
- 6
Brown the slices on both sides. Sprinkle a little sugar on top and flip them 2 or 3 more times, adding a bit of sugar each time so they caramelize. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
- 7
Serve with your choice of toppings: sugar, maple syrup, chocolate hazelnut spread, or even a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
