Baked Idli with White Sauce(leftover idli)
Steps
- 1
First of all, cut all the vegetables into square pieces and keep them aside.
Now put the idli in a mixer jar and grind it coarsely and keep it aside. - 2
Bechamel Sauce (White Sauce) Heat the butter in a pan
Add flour to it and fry it while stirring it on low flame. (Keep the flour white, do not let it turn brown or else the color of the sauce will change.) Add milk little by little to the flour, so that the mixture does not get lumpy in the sauce, keep stirring the mixture continuously. - 3
After 4-5 minutes the sauce will start to thicken. Now add black pepper powder, salt, and nutmeg powder to the sauce and mix it (keep stirring continuously). Cook the sauce till it becomes as thick or thin as you want.
- 4
Here put another pan on the gas and put 2 tbsp olive oil in the pan and when it becomes slightly hot, add finely chopped garlic and fry it lightly.
Now add garlic and fry for a few seconds, now add onion, carrot, capsicum and zucchini
Cook it for a minute or till the vegetables are slightly soft. - 5
After this add tsp black pepper and tsp salt.
Mix well and then keep it aside. Do not overcook vegetables. Fry them for a while so that the vegetable remains crunchy.
Now add the cooked vegetables to the white sauce and mix well. - 6
Now take a glass container which is suitable for baking.
Grease it with butter and put half of the idli in the container and set it well. Put a layer of white sauce on it and add some parmesan cheese, then put the layer of ground idli back. - 7
Then pour the sauce and put a layer of parmesan cheese on top also add some butter. (You can also add mozzarella cheese)
- 8
Bake the idlis at 200°C for 10 minutes or till the cheese melts.
Remove the idli from the oven and let it cool for 10 to 15 minutes. Then your Baked Idli is ready. - 9
Serve and enjoy.
