Daal Appe

Innovative and extremely healthy keep your tummy happy and a heart-friendly recipe too. And the best part is that this innovative idea of mine uses just as minimal Oil as possible, nearly one-fourth of a teaspoon for each Appe. Absolutely yummy and in fact tastes much better than its fried version. A perfect tea time party item or a kitty party's first choice. It fits in every party round the corner of the year. A perfect one for Iftaar too and is any day Brunch idea for a healthy mid-morning Snack.
This Ramadan, try these beautiful Daal Appe for your loved ones and friends alike. Healthy and perfect for an Iftaar treat after the day-long fast especially in this scorching summer heat. Coconut Chutney goes very well with this. Or any other of your choice as well. Melt in mouth Appe is ready in no time at all.

Steps
- 1
Soak the Lentils for a good 4 to 5 hours or better still overnight. This is extremely important for soft and spongy Daal Appe. This way the texture and the overall appearance of these beautiful-looking Appe will be amazing.
- 2
Grind them with Salt, Coriander Leaves, and Buttermilk if used. Otherwise, just use water. Grind them using as less water as possible. It should not be watery at all. Now mix in all the rest of the ingredients in the batter. The batter stands all done. Set aside until use. Keep it well covered.
- 3
Heat an Appam Patra or an Appe pan with one to two drops of oil in each mould or depression plate. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side. After done on one side, flip over and cook again for 2 to 3 minutes by drizzling about 2 to 3 drops of oil in each mould.
- 4
Soft and super fluffy, almost spongy Daal Appe with a soft inside is ready to be served with any Chutney or Dip of your choice. Yummy, fully cooked, and easily done in a few minutes without much Oil either, these are a must-try for a yummy Iftaar treat. Enjoy! Yum!
