Ingredients

30 mins
Family
  • 1 cupghee residue
  • 1.5 tablespoonsRava
  • 1/2 cupeither Maida or wheat flour (you can take any one of your choice)
  • 3-4crushed Elaichi or green cardamom
  • Pinchbaking soda
  • 1 cupsugar and 1 cup water for the sugar syrup
  • As RequiredOil or ghee for frying

    In a bowl add 1 cup of ghee residue. Please ensure you extract the ghee from the residue. Now add 1.5 tablespoon of Rava, 1/2 cup of either Maida or wheat flour (you can take any one of your choices)

  2. 2

    Add 3 to 4 crushed Elaichi or green cardamom (you can add less if you don't like Elaichi flavour; I personally love it)

  3. 3

    Now make a dough that should be like a roti dough, not too soft or hard.

  4. 4

    If you find your dough hard just add a few drops of milk. Lastly, add a pinch of baking soda, mix gently and keep the dough resting for 10 mins.

  5. 5

    Meanwhile, in another pan add 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water and make a sugar syrup.

  6. 6

    Heat the oil or ghee in a Kadai, and add one small ball of the Gulab jamun first to check if it is not breaking. Then gradually fry others on low to medium flame till they become golden brown

  7. 7

    Add all the Gulab jamun to the sugar syrup and let it soak the syrup for some time and enjoy
