Wash and soak rice for 10 to 20 minutes, add water and slow cook rice until break down or melts add salt.
Put few bay leaves for flavour and cinnamon sticks if like, don’t overpower (water can be needed more or less depending on the consistency you like, I like mine quite thick) - 2
When rice comes mushy type add molasses and cook for few minutes then add coconut (fresh coconut will taste great if available) we used to have with homemade evaporated milk, add double cream for creamy taste, serve hot or cold
