Ingredients

  1. --Casserole-----
  2. 1 poundgreen beans
  3. 15 ouncescanned garbanzo beans undrained
  4. 1-1/2 poundschicken breast, boneless and skinless
  5. 7 ouncescheese crackers, I used Cheez Its
  6. 2 teaspoonscelery salt
  7. 3 cupswater
  8. 1-1/2 teaspoonfilé
  9. 1 teaspoongranulated garlic powder
  10. ---Meatballs------
  11. 1-1/4 poundsground pork
  12. 1 teaspoonsmoked paprika
  13. 15 ouncecan of garbanzo beans drained
  14. 1 teaspoonseasoned salt
  15. 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  16. 1 teaspoondill weed
  17. 1-1/2 teaspoonfennel seed
  18. as neededextra virgin olive oil to fry meatballs
  19. --Toppings-----
  20. 1 stickbutter
  21. 1-1/2 cupchunky extra sharp cheddar cheese

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven 400 degrees Fahrenheit

    Cube the chicken add to water, salt and garlic, bring to a boil. Add garbanzo beans. Adding liquids of beans to pot.

    Mash the drained can of garbanzo beans

  4. 4

    Put the pork in a bowl

  5. 5

    Add the mashed garbanzo beans and seasonings.

  6. 6

    Mix them together and form small balls.

  7. 7

    Heat oil and fry the meatballs

  8. 8

    When done add to bottom of an oven safe dish. I used a 9-13 pan

    Add half the crackers.

    Fish out the beans and chicken spreading over the top of meatballs

    Add rest of crackers

    Then the cheese

  14. 14

    Add the filé. Stir in to let thicken

  15. 15

    Pour over the top of casserole

  16. 16

    Slice the butter and put on top, bake for 30 minutes.
