સૌ પ્રથમ ચોખા અને દાળ લઈ તેને મિક્સ કરી ને ધોઈ દેવી.

હવે ગેસ પર કૂકરમાં તેલ નાખીને ગરમ થાય એટલે રાઈ તતડે એટલે જીરૂ,હિંગ અને લીમડો નાખી દો.હવે તેમાં લસણ,ડુંગળી,બટાકા,વટાણા, શીંગદાણા નાખીને હલાવી લો.અને મસાલા નાખીને મિક્સ કરી દો.તેમાં દાળ ચોખા નાખીને બરાબર હલાવી લો.લીલા ધાણા નાખી તેમાં જરૂર મુજબ પાણી નાખી દો.

હવે કુકર ને બંધ કરીને ૩ સિટી વગાડીને ગેસ બંધ કરી દો.કુકર ઠંડુ થાય એટલે ગરમ ગરમ મસાલા ખીચડીમાં ઘી નાખી સર્વ કરો.
