Cashew Apples are edible. And the Cashewnuts still at the end of the Fruit are removed and then dried and processed. They have a distinctly fruity and a nutty taste. They are sprinkled with Salt and eaten. I have used Sumac to give them a perfect change. It not only looks colourful but also tastes equally delicious. Chat Masala can also be used accordingly. I use both sometimes and just Sumac at other times. Both the ways it's absolutely amazing.
Cashew Apples are a good source of Phosphorus, Iron and Calcium. They also contains high levels of Lutein and Zeaxanthin which act as antioxidants when consumed regularly in this Season when they are available aplenty.
You will love them for sure. Sometimes they are too astringent but if they are raw. Otherwise they are sweet and juicy. They are light reddish to yellow colour Fruits.

Enjoy No Cooking with Zeen!

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
