Peel and devein the shrimp. Mince, but leave some texture. Hand-crush the hanpen while still in the packaging.

Add a little bit of salt and katakuriko to the shrimp and mix with the hanpen until it all sticks together.

Shape into flat, round patties and arrange on a plate.

Add oil to a pan and cook. Flip once golden brown, add water, and cover with the lid to steam cook. Once both sides are golden brown, they are finished!
