In a vessel add soaked Chana dal,add 1 tsp salt and 1 cup water. Boil dal till it turn soft. Drain the water and keep aside.

In a kadhai add oil when it heat up add 1 big onion slices fry till they turn golden and crisp. Transfer in a bowl keep aside.

Take a vessel add 4 cups of water add whole spices and salt.add 1 tsp oil.then add soaked rice.boil the rice until they cooked 90%.
Strain it under running water and keep in a strainer. - 4
Take the oil in which we fried onion add remaining onion sliced and fry till they turn light brown. Add ginger garl8c pasta saute 1minute add slit green chillies.saute few seconds.

Now add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red Chilli powder, garam masala and salt mix, add 2 tbsp water and cook for 2 minutes. Add curd mix it well keep stirring and cook until the oil

Add boiled Chana dal,some mint and coriander leaves. Add 1/4 cup water.mix then cover and cook for 4-5 minutes.

The dal has cooked well with spices. Remove from the gas.
Take a vessel add 1 tbsp ghee. Add half quantity of rice and spread evenly in the vessel. - 8
Add cooked Chana dal on the rice and make a layer then again spread remaining rice. Add mint and coriander leaves. Then spread the fried onion on top.

Add soaked saffron milk then add remaining ghee.cover and cooked on simmer for 8-10 minutes. Turn off the flame. Leave it for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes remove the lid mix gently and served hot with salad and pickles.
