Ingredients

4 servings
  1. salt, to taste
  2. 1/2 lbspaghetti (225 g)
  3. 2 tablespoonsolive oil
  4. 2 tablespoonsunsalted butter
  5. 2 teaspoonscoarsely ground black pepper
  6. 4 ozgrated parmesan cheese (115 g)
  7. Bacon Bits (optional)

Steps

  1. 1

    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta for 1 minute less than the package instructs, until al dente. Save 1 cup (240 ml) pasta water, then drain.

  2. 2

    Heat a large sauté pan over medium heat. Add the olive oil, butter, and pepper, and stir to combine.

  3. 3

    Stir in the reserved pasta water.

  4. 4

    Toss in the cooked pasta. Reduce the heat to low.

  5. 5

    Add the Parmesan and toss until the cheese is melted and the pasta is well-coated.

  6. 6

    Season with salt, if desired.
