Ingredients

30 minutes
1 person
  • 2medium size onions
  • 1 tspcorn flour
  • 1 pinchsalt
  • 1 tbsprefined oil for frying
  • 100 gmkaronda
  • 1 tbspmustard oil
  • 1 tbsppanch phoron
  • 1 tspsalt
  • 1 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1 tspChili powder
  • 1 tbspcoriander powder
  • 1 cupwhole wheat atta
  • 1/2 tspajwain
  • 1 tbspoil for moyan
  • 1 tbspcheese spread for 1 roti
  • 1-2green chili
  • 1 tspBlack pepper crushed
  • few toothpicks

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Slice onions, sprinkle pinch of salt and 1tsp corn flour and mix well. Set aside for 10mins. Fry in oil in medium flame till the onion slices turn golden brown in color. Collect in a plate.

    Rinsi karonda thoroughly with water and wipe out the water. Cut into half lengthwise. In oil, Add all the ingredients and allow them to flutter. Add karonda slices into the hot oil. Cook for 2-3 mins.Add all the spices and salt and mix well. Cook for another 2mins and karonda pickle is ready to eat.

    For preparing roti, take whole wheat atta in a mixing bowl. Add ajwain, salt and refined oil and mix well. Prepare a dough with water with medium soft consistency. Keep aside for 10mins. Make balls from the dough. With rolling pin, prepare round roti of thickness medium thin.

    Cook the roti both sides on the tawa. Collect on a plate and allow the prepared roti to cool down. Spread cheese on one side of the roti. Over it, sprinkle black pepper crushed.

    Add chopped green chili and fried onion or birista all over the roti. Roll the roti. Cut the roll into pieces. On the top, one karonda pickle is placed and attached with a toothpick. Roti Roll is ready to serve.
