Fry dry fruits in ghee, and keep aside

Soak basmati rice for 30 minutes.

Warm milk in a heavy bottomed pan. Take out 2 tbsp milk in a cup. Soak saffron strands in the warm milk in cup. keep aside.

Add soaked rice to the milk. Let it cook on low flame for 7-8 minutes.

After 8 minutes, rice is cooked well. Mash a little the mixture. Add sugar and further cook on medium heat till sugar disdolved.

Add saffron milk, dry fruits and cardemom piwder. Cook for 2 minutes. Now kheer is thick and ready to be served.

Serve chilled or warm as you desire.
