Steps
- 1
Make sure the frozen corn is at room temperature or this will affect the cooking. You have to decide how much water to put in your pot, remember you are going to be adding alot of stuff and you don't want it to boil over. I used a 16 quart steamer pot, removed the insert and filled water to the indentation line. This was perfect for this recipe but I did have to add one bottled water after I added the corn. Just make sure to let it come to a rolling boil again before the next step!
- 2
Bring water to a boil in your stockpot then add onions, garlic, lemons, orange, bay leaves and liquid crab boil. Squeeze the juice from the lemons and orange then drop the halves in the pot.
- 3
Add the cajun seasoning and give it a stir.
- 4
When it's a rolling boil add the sausage, stir and cook 5 minutes
- 5
Add the potatoes, stir and cook 5 minutes
- 6
Add the corn, stir and cook 5 minutes
- 7
Final step: Add the shrimp! Stir and remove pot from the heat. Only leave the shrimp for 3 to 3.5 minutes and drain
- 8
Pour onto a large foil pan big enough to accommodate everything
- 9
Take a saucepan and melt some butter and squeeze a whole lemon into it, add your favorite herbs and mix well, then pour all over the shrimp boil. Top with a sprinkle of Old Bay! And ENJOY! 😋
