Ingredients

  • 3apples, sliced 1/8” thickness
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1roll of Pillsbury crescent roll sheet (I used crescent rolls and pinched the perforated part together)
  • Scant 1/4 cup apricot preserves
  • 1 tspcinnamon
  • Powdered sugar

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat your oven to the temperature on the back of the crescent roll sheet.

  2. 2

    Slice the apples thin with a mandolin, about 1/6 of an inch. Place in a bowl and cover with water and the juice from a lemon. Microwave for 4-6 minutes, until the apple slices bend easily without snapping.

  3. 3

    Roll out the croissant sheet over a surface sprinkled with a little flour. Use a rolling pin to make it thin. Cut dough in half vertically and then four times horizontally (to create 8).

    Place the apricot preserves in a small bowl and add a splash of water. Microwave for 1 minute and whisk together. Use a pastry brush to brush the apricot preserves onto the dough.

    Line the apple slices at the top of each dough slice. They should be peeking slightly over the top of the dough.

  6. 6

    Sprinkle with cinnamon and then fold the bottom edge of the dough over the apples. The apples should still be peeking out slightly.

  7. 7

    Roll the dough pieces inwards, creating spirals.

    Place into a greased muffin tin and bake for 10-15 minutes, until dough is golden brown.

    For serving: Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

    Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if you please!

I love to bake sweet stuff, with a bit of savory tasty cooking thrown into the mix. Just good ol’ southern cuisine. Most of my recipes were handed down from my Great & Grand Grannies. If they didn’t grow it or raise it, it wasn’t eaten. My hubby and I have alot of food allergies so it gets challenging sometimes to make things that we both can eat. Neither of us can eat shellfish, which is sad, considering where we live, cuz it’s everywhere! Y’all won’t find any shellfish /saltwater fish recipes here. Some fresh water fishes, maybe. Hope y’all enjoy my recipes!
