Cream Of Drumstick Soup

Yes you heard that right ! I was equally surprised when I heard and had it for the first time! My mum made this when I had gone for a visit and guess what ? It did taste so yumm. I immediately got the recipe from her and tried it and here I'm sharing it with you all ! :)

Benefits of drumstick :

•It is a rich source of highly digestive proteins, calcium, iron, Vitamin C, and carotenoids.
•Drumstick soup helps to control any kind of chest congestion, coughs and sore throats.
•Juice extracted from drum stick leaves, when mixed with milk and offered to children will greatly helps to strengthen their bones as it is said to be a great source of Calcium.
•Drumstick leaves juice gives a good glow to your skin and face also drumstick is said to be a great blood purifier.
•Drumstick leaves are used to treat many problems such as the wheezing of asthma, bronchitis, and tuberculosis.

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 cupsdrumsticks (boiled and flesh removed)
  2. 1onion cut thinly
  3. 10 podsgarlic
  4. 2 tbspbutter
  5. 1 cupmilk or 1/2 cup cream
  6. coriander leaves for garnish

Steps

  1. 1

    Firstly, You need to Boil the drumsticks in water. You can find out the tenderness by its colour and softness.

  2. 2

    Then, you have to scoop out the flesh from the sticks along with the seeds. Kindly preserve the water in which yu boiled the drumsticks.

  3. 3

    Blend the flesh of drumstick to a smooth paste and keep aside.

  4. 4

    Now take a pan and add butter, onions and garlic, saute for 5 mins or until onions turn pink or soft.

  5. 5

    Add the drumstick paste to it and let it cook for 5 mins or so. Add in pepper and salt to taste. You can also add milk or cream to make it really creamy. Switch off the gas. Garnish with coriander leaves. Enjoy
