Steps
- 1
Make hard-boiled eggs. If you prefer soft-boiled eggs, you can use those instead. I made them hard-boiled this time because I wanted to put them in a lunchbox.
- 2
Combine the mentsuyu and soy sauce, then add the boiled eggs. Use a 2:1 ratio of mentsuyu to soy sauce.
- 3
Add enough marinade to cover the eggs.
- 4
Since the eggs may float, place a piece of parchment paper on top to keep them submerged. Refrigerate and let them marinate until they take on color.
- 5
After 1 hour, turn the eggs so the parts not submerged are now in the marinade, and let them sit for another hour.
- 6
Once the eggs are evenly colored, they're ready. If you marinate them too long, they may become too salty depending on the eggs.
- 7
I made these marinated eggs to go with this lunchbox. Recipe ID: 19775811
