Ingredients

Serves 4 servings
  • 8frozen pork or chicken dumplings (gyoza or potstickers)
  • 1/8 headcabbage
  • 4shiitake mushrooms
  • 1carrot
  • 1egg
  • 3 1/3 cupswater (about 800 ml)
  • 1 tablespoonchicken bouillon powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoontoasted sesame oil

Steps

    Use frozen pork or chicken dumplings (gyoza or potstickers).

    Cut the cabbage into bite-sized pieces. Slice the carrot into thin half-moons. Remove the stems from the shiitake mushrooms and slice the caps thinly.

  3. 3

    Heat the sesame oil in a small pot and sauté the vegetables.

  4. 4

    When the cabbage softens, add the water and bring to a boil.

  5. 5

    Once boiling, add the frozen dumplings directly to the pot.

  6. 6

    After about 5 minutes, season with chicken bouillon powder, salt, and pepper.

  7. 7

    Beat the egg, then slowly drizzle it into the soup while stirring to create egg ribbons. Serve hot.
