Spicy Tomato Ramen

Ramen in America is expensive, so I decided to make it myself!
How this recipe came about: Ramen in DC has gone up to $20 (and honestly, the taste doesn't match the price), so I thought it would be more cost-effective to make it at home. A friend shared this recipe with me.

Steps

  1. 1

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces, season with salt and pepper, and coat with potato starch. Heat sesame oil in a pot and pan-fry the chicken until golden. Add the green onion and minced garlic.

  2. 2

Add the canned tomatoes to the pot. Once the liquid has reduced, add all the ingredients marked with ★ (water, chicken bouillon powder, ground bonito flakes, mentsuyu, oyster sauce, ground chili pepper, and sugar) and bring to a boil.

  3. 3

Add the Chinese noodles (or Lo Mein noodles) to the pot and cook until they reach your preferred doneness. Serve in bowls and top with the chopped onion and black pepper.
