Wash the edamame, drain in a colander, and pat dry with paper towels.

Place the edamame in a bowl, add the olive oil, and toss to coat evenly.

Spread the edamame on a grill-safe tray with a lid and grill for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally. Use low heat for both top and bottom burners; if they aren't browning enough, switch to medium heat.

If you only have a grill rack, use a skillet instead. Cover with a lid and cook over slightly lower than medium heat for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally.

Taste a pod to check doneness. When ready, remove from heat and sprinkle salt evenly over the edamame.
