Ingredients

3-4 people
  1. Marinate
  2. 1 lbMushrooms halved/quatered
  3. 3 tbspYogurt (dahi or curd)
  4. 0.75 tspRed chili powder
  5. 0.25 tspBlack pepper powder
  6. as neededSalt
  7. Sabzi
  8. 1onion chopped finely
  9. 1Tomato
  10. 1.5 tbspOil
  11. 1 tspCumin seeds
  12. 0.5 tbspGinger Garlic paste
  13. as neededSalt
  14. 0.5 tspRed chili powder
  15. 0.5 tspCoriander powder
  16. 0.25 tspTurmeric powder
  17. 1 cupGreen peas fresh or frozen

Cooking Instructions

    Take chopped mushrooms in a bowl. Add 3 tbsp yogurt, 0.75 tsp red chili powder, salt, 0.25 tsp black pepper powder. Mix well, so spices and yogurt is coated to each piece of mushroom. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
    Start step 2 now and marination should be done by the time we need to add it.

    Chop onions. Heat the oil in a pan on medium heat. Once hot add cumin seeds and let them sizzle. Then add chopped onions. Cook till onions get light brown in color and become soft. Chop tomato and add it.

    Add salt, 0.25 tsp turmeric powder, 0.5 tsp red chili powder and 0.5 tsp coriander powder. Let it cook till oil oozes.

    Then add marinated mushrooms and green peas. Mix well. Cover it and cook. Add very little water to clean the marinating bowl and add it to the pan. (not a lot as mushroom will loose lot of water).

    Top with coriander leaves if you want.
