Simple and delicious Bengali lunch Black Cumin Seeds Arbi Curry .

First wash Arbi twice with fresh water. Boiled it for 1 minutes. After 1 minute switch off the flame. Cool it and peel out the skin. Cut into thin slices. Once it is done then keep aside. In a kadai heat mustard oil. Fry the arbi wth haldi powder and salt. Till it is light brown in colour or till it is tender.

In another kadai. Heat mustard oil. Add kalonji saute it for few seconds. Then add onion slices. Fry till is light pinkish in a colour. In a bowl add haldi powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder and black pepper powder. Add little water and mix it well. Then add the masala mixture and fried arbi.

Mix it well. Then add water as needed.

Add salt and garam masala Add tamarind pulp.. Mix it well. Cook for 1 minutes.Once it is done.

Then transfer to a serving plate. Garnish with coriander leaves. Ready to serve.with hot.chappatis.
