Ingredients

20minutes
  • 4haddock fillets
  • 1 cupall-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cupcornstarch/ corn flour
  • 1 tsp.baking powder
  • 1 tsp.salt
  • 1/2 tsp.pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp.paprika
  • 1/2 tsp.garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp.onion powder
  • 1egg
  • 1 cupice cold water
  • As required, oil

Steps

20minutes

    Pat the fish dry with paper towel.

  2. 2

    In a large bowl, mix together all dry ingredients.

  3. 3

    Beat the egg and mix into dry ingredients:

    Gradually add the water, whisking until the batter is smooth.

  5. 5

    Heat oil in a skillet or pan to 350F/175C degree.

  6. 6

    Dip the fillets in the batter, fully coating the fish.

  7. 7

    Fry the fillet in batches for 4-5 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through..

  8. 8

    Drain on paper towel.

  9. 9

    Serve with sauce, fries
