Ingredients

  1. 1 bag (5.3 oz)or 150 grams) plain tortilla chips
  2. 1 sprigdried oregano
  3. For the cheddar sauce
  4. 2/3 cupmilk (about 150 ml)
  5. 3.5 ozcheddar cheese (about 100 grams)
  6. 1 tablespoonmargarine
  7. 1 tablespoonall-purpose flour
  8. 1 pinchground cayenne pepper
  9. 1 pinchfreshly ground mixed peppercorns
  10. Salt

Cooking Instructions

    Place a saucepan over medium heat and add the margarine. Once melted, add the flour, mix well, and cook for a couple of minutes over low heat, stirring constantly.

    Gradually add the milk while mixing, then add the chopped cheddar cheese. Cook until the cheese is melted, then add a pinch of pepper, cayenne, and salt.

    Spread the tortilla chips in an oven-safe dish and pour the cheese sauce over them.

    Cut the bacon into thin strips, add on top, and sprinkle with oregano.

    With the oven preheated to 430°F (220°C), bake for 10 minutes.
