Cooking Instructions
- 1
Clean the beef bones and boil them, discarding the first batch of water. Roast the ginger, star anise, cinnamon, cardamom, peppercorns, and shallots in a pan. Add the roasted ingredients, onion, and dried sea worms to the pot with the beef bones, fill with water, season with spices, and simmer for 12 hours (simmering for 12 hours will make the pho broth very rich).
- 2
Boil the beef brisket until cooked, then add the boiling water to the pot with the beef bones.
- 3
After simmering, adjust the seasoning of the broth to taste. Place the pho noodles in a bowl, add the rare beef slices, beef meatballs, and sliced onion, sprinkle with green onions, and pour the pho broth over! Serve with bean sprouts, Thai basil, sawtooth herb, pickled garlic, and hoisin and chili sauces.

Pho Pho
Everybody has their "version" of a recipe. This one is by no means meant to serve an example of authentic Vietnamese Pho. This is my version, based on what was easy for me to buy locally for ingredients. It makes a great light meal. Other add ins include grated carrot, tofu, bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Add what you like and make it your own. Since it can be very salty, make whatever adjustments necessary to your preference. alley927cat
